Welcome to Dominical, Costa Rica!

A town that began as a small fishing village on the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica has since grown into a tourist attraction, most notably for surfers. While the peak season from December 15 to April 15 sees an influx of visitors, Dominical maintains a serene atmosphere throughout the year, except during Christmas to New Year's and Easter Week when locals converge to celebrate on the expansive mile-long beach. The town offers a plethora of activities, and all hotels are equipped to assist with tour arrangements, boasting staff proficient in English, and possibly French and German.

Dominical is situated at the confluence of the Talamancan mountains and the Pacific Ocean, 45 kilometers south of Quepos and 36 kilometers west of San Isidro de El General. The stretch between Dominical and Uvita, 15 kilometers south, boasts over 15 waterfalls, offering breathtaking views of the empty point and beach breaks along the coastal highway. The main beach break features a potent rip current and is separated from the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge by a rivermouth, extending 4 kilometers to the north.

Dominical, some say "The magic center of the universe", presents a diverse range of activities, catering to varied interests. From surf schools, wind surfing, scuba diving, paragliding, and snorkeling to wildlife and reptile parks, Nauyaca Waterfall tours, hiking, rappelling, biking, motorcycling, yoga retreats, pilates, wellness spas, local music, art and culture, swimming pool bars, dancing, and an array of exquisite restaurants – the town offers a captivating experience for every visitor. Explore the dynamic offerings and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Dominical's cultural and recreational delights.
